Welcome to the Birchwood website.  John and Annette invite you to view Birchwood property at Lachlan which includes Birchwood Cottage. 

Set in rural surrounds, Birchwood at Lachlan is approximately 8 kilometers south of New Norfolk township which is on the beautiful River Derwent.  New Norfolk boasts many quality antique shops and is the gateway to Tasmania's west coast including Strahan, Gordon River and Cradle Mountain.

Birchwood is a short walking distance from The Agrarian Kitchen located at 650 Lachlan Road. 

Birchwood at Lachlan comprises the main homestead in which we live and a very comfortable cottage which is available for short-term accommodation.

Our 10 acre property is beside the Lachlan River and contains an extensive garden in which there are many Silver Birch trees, Maples, Ash, Elm, Pin Oak and several varieties of fruit trees.  The long driveway is lined with Silver Birch, so named because the adult tree has distinctive white-gray bark and the autumn leaves change to a bright golden colour.

Guests of Birchwood Cottage are welcome to walk about and enjoy the property.
